NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Eric Guyot

I first started racing four cylinder stocks back in 2005, and since then I have gone on to win races and championships across a number of different racing divisions.  But it wasn't an easy journey for me;  when I started out, I dealt with a lot of the same problems that I'm sure you're dealing with today.  An incomplete understanding of chassis setup paired with bad advice from well-meaning friends left me unsure of what to do to make my car handle better.  I started to learn some concepts as I gained more experience, but my journey didn't really take off until I went away to university to get my degree in Mechanical Engineering.  It was then that I truly began to understand the dynamics going on with my race car, and now with 10 years of experience since graduating, I'm confident that my skill set will be able to help you too.

Variety of Experience

I've driven all different types of dirt race cars, including 4-cylinder stocks, lightning sprints, street stocks, modifieds, super trucks, super stocks, sprint cars and midgets.  This has given me a lot of insight into what makes different cars work.

Practical Knowledge

Don't let the engineering degree fool you; at my core, I'm still a farm kid.  I work on all my own stuff and can explain things in a way that you can relate to.  No big technical jargon here!

Setup Seminars

In 2022, I started hosting in person chassis setup seminars across Canada.  These were very well received, but I couldn't help but feel there had to be a better way for the students to really learn the material.  When you're not used to sitting in a classroom all day (and even if you are!), it's not easy to retain all of the information shared with you over an eight or nine hour session.  So I decided to take my course online, where you can learn at your own pace, reflect on it for a little bit, and have the opportunity to ask well thought out questions.

"The course was awesome, Eric covered a LOT of information that applied to a lot of different classes!"

- John, Thunder Bay Seminar

"I've been to his seminars twice, and both times I learned something new."

- Tyler, Manitoba seminar

"I signed up for Eric’s seminar and learned a lot from it which has helped me throughout the years, from making decisions in the shop to quick setup changes at the track."

- Dustin, Online seminar participant

Why I Do It

Racing has given me everything I have in life.  Realizing that I had found my "thing" that I was good at gave me a reason to learn how to continuously improve, develop those skills, and become a champion.  That work ethic and mental toughness I developed in my early racing career has given me the tools I needed to succeed in life.  However, I realize that without the right knowledge, racing can be an extremely frustrating game (heck, it still is a lot of nights!) and success can seem so far away when things aren't working well.

I love helping students understand the fundamentals of making their cars handle better.  Seeing them attend my course, then go on to apply that knowledge and have their best season ever the following year is incredibly rewarding.
